Arthritis
Shoulder replacement is in a period of rapid development. Newer implants, technologies, and techniques are rapidly evolving. Speak with Dr. Peer about the process involved in shoulder replacement. Dr. Peer uses one of the most advanced 3-Dimesional modeling and design software programs available. He uses 3-dimensional virtual design to “perform” every shoulder replacement on the computer before the actual surgery. This allows optimization of every aspect of implant placement and selection prior to the surgery. For many patients the pre-operative calibration is completed, and a custom part is manufactured for their specific surgery. This produces extremely accurate implant placement which has been shown to produce reliable outcomes.
